The Record
Back to the Meadows belongs to the Solitude pathway and reflects on the strange way the past remains present in us.
It begins with a place from childhood, but becomes a journey through memory, time and the realisation that earlier versions of ourselves never disappear. Sometimes a familiar road, an old place, or a feeling can bring forgotten parts of us back into view.
The music doesn't recreate the past or take you back. It moves through the feeling of remembering; the familiarity of something you can't quite place, the distance between who you were and who you are now, and the realisation that a future you once couldn't imagine has become your present.
There is nostalgia here, but no longing to return.
The Journal
The accompanying Journal holds the personal story behind the Chapter and why it exists. The music leaves the memory open enough for you to bring your own places, people and earlier versions of yourself with you.
